MKN's Marine Range Aboard Spirit of Tasmania

In collaboration with Spirit of Tasmania, Phoeniks recently completed its first off land project, supplying the Melbourne to Devonport vessels with a selection of MKN's Marine Range which is suitable for kitchens on high sea.

Based on the specific requirements for power, utilisation and durability required for marine cooking, Phoeniks customised an MKN Optima 850 to suit the new restaurant and menu, working in conjunction with General Manager of Retail and hospitality Nick Harriman.

We also supplied the vessels with an MKN Bratt Pan, deep fat fryer and a chip scuttle. With our extensive experience with MKN products, and MKN's knowledge of the marine industry, we were also able to provide added features for this project, such as increased safety measures via a safety sensor switch, which powers down the cooking equipment in the case of emergency, providing peace of mind to staff and customers aboard Spirit of Tasmania.

Spirit of Tasmania's kitchen upgrade was part of a major refurbishment of the vessels to refresh and enhance the on-board experience for its passengers.

Phoeniks Introduces New Smoker Range

The electrical smoker doesn't require an extract fan or hood and is as easy to use as plugging it in. The double shell construction is fully insulated, which allows for short pre-heating times with minimal heat loss and means the oven runs without electricity for nearly 60% of the cooking time.
